POLYGON in Kladno, Czech Republic, is the second facility of this type operated by SINGING ROCK, a manufacturer of climbing and industrial mountaineering equipment.
The first POLYGON training center was built in 2007 at the company's head office, in the village of Ponikla, Liberec Region, Czech Republic. The second training center, built in Kladno, is a response to the growing demand for specialized training in the technique of working at height with the use of special climbing equipment, and attracts customers not only from the capital and the central part of the Czech Republic, but also from other cities for which this city is the center country is more accessible than Krkonoše.
The reason behind the construction of both centers is the intention to continuously improve the services and equipment that SINGING ROCK provides to high-altitude residents. In this sense, SINGING ROCK is not only a manufacturer and supplier of first-class height equipment for work and movement in the vertical world, but for several years it has also been a provider of professional training and comprehensive services and solutions in this field.
Over time, the first POLYGON training center in decline could no longer satisfy the growing interest in professional courses, which led to the decision to build another training center. The former Poldi factory was chosen as the ideal location for the construction of the second SINGING ROCK POLYGON training center due to its location, authentic industrial environment and large interior space.
The industrial hall was purchased in 2010, and its complete reconstruction lasted four years. He offered his premises to those interested in learning the skills of working at height. Already during the reconstruction, it was used in a test mode, but it could not provide comfortable and full-fledged conditions for all workers and rescuers. At the courses held in "combat conditions", new practical knowledge about the needs of customers was obtained, which was used in the further equipping of the hall with training equipment. At the final stage, the internal and external surfaces received a new coating, heating was installed in the hall, and the floor was covered with a new elastic material.
POLYGON KLADNO will, of course, change and supplement its equipment in accordance with customer requirements and in accordance with the trends developing in the industry of industrial mountaineering. However, in any case, it can be said that the reconstruction of the hall was completed in November 2014, and it can be officially opened for regular use.
In addition to the invited professional public, the opening ceremony was attended by the State Labor Inspectorate, fire service, police, penitentiary services, aviation rescue services, construction companies and other organizations dealing with safety and occupational health at height.
Instructors from the POLYGON team demonstrated the rescue of a worker from a height and presented in detail the training system of the POLYGON center, which is structured from the basic training of class 1 for movement on roofs and structures, to the most prestigious training with the international IRATA certificate for the highest quality - the level of professionals.
Other items on the presentation program included a demonstration of rescue work by members of the fire brigade of the Czech Republic with a description of the brigade's activities, as well as a demonstration of rescue work on a ropeway. The presentation was attended by a representative of the air rescue service in Hradec Kralove, delegates of the State Labor Inspectorate, Grimo BOZP s.r.o. and Skanska a.s. with lectures on control and safety of work at height. Representatives of the Czech Police demonstrated how a special unit calms down an offender with the help of rope equipment, and another unit of the prison service showed the audience how to subdue aggressive prisoners and the work of dog handlers. During the day, all participants had the opportunity to communicate not only with each other, but also with the engineers and developers of the SINGING ROCK company and POLYGON trainers to discuss further opportunities for improving the equipment.
