The history of the Czech brand Pinguin dates back to 1986. At that time, the outdoor equipment industry in Europe was just beginning to develop, and in Ukraine, tourists were still going on hikes with canvas tents, heavy synthetic winterizer sleeping bags, and backpacks of the “Abolakov system” and “Yermak”. The lack of good and modern equipment for travelers gave rise to the first mass production of down jackets and down sleeping bags, lightweight tents. Due to high demand, customers had to wait a long time for the finished products. In a short period of time, the company became popular in the Czech Republic and gained trust as a manufacturer of quality equipment.
The company's headquarters, development workshop, brand store, and warehouses are located in the Czech Republic, in the city of Náchod.
The owner of the Pinguin brand is the Czech company Activent 365 s.r.o, headed by the original founders. The company also owns the Acepac brand - the production of bags and trunks for cyclists.
This is one of the first European brands of equipment for travelers, from which the history of our company began. It occupies a leading position in the portfolio of brands represented by SMG in Ukraine. In the future, the entire range of products produced was also developed taking into account the needs of the Ukrainian market.
The cooperation between SMG and Pinguin began in 2002, when the product catalog was contained on one A4 sheet and consisted of 8 models of sleeping bags and 6 models of tourist tents. Over the past two decades, the range of products of the Pinguin brand has expanded significantly. Consistently high quality and competitive prices make Pinguin products one of the leaders in the Ukrainian market of equipment for tourists and climbers. Tents are very popular, which include several classes and levels of use, starting with tents designed for extreme high-altitude climbing and ending with camping. Pinguin sleeping bags are designed for both travel enthusiasts and for extreme use in cold conditions, with a comfort temperature of up to -40ºС. The company pays attention to the selection of modern and functional materials, which are tested both in the laboratory and by professional travelers before serial production begins.
