Splitboard binding manufacturer Karakoram

SMG is the official representative of the Karakoram snowboard bindings brand in Ukraine. The company produces snowboard bindings for skiing and ski touring. The Karakoram brand range is presented only in specialized stores selling ski equipment in all major cities of Ukraine. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Lutsk, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih, Mariupol, Sumy.

Karakoram is a young American independent company producing bindings for snowboards and splitboards. In the huge global industry of snowboarding equipment, the scale of Karakoram's production seems quite small, but this does not prevent the company from taking a leading role in the splitboard bindings market. The small staff of Karakoram is a plus, since the compact scale of production allows the company to pay close attention to quality and product improvement, because Karakoram is practically handmade.

Karakoram was founded in February 2008 by twin brothers Tyler and Bryce Kloster, whose dream was to combine their work with their passion for the mountains. Skiing has always been a part of their lives, from their first steps on skis at the age of 3, to their transition to snowboarding in the late 80s. The brothers first looked towards the backcountry when they started teaching snowboarding at Alpental Ski Area, in Washington State. Since then, the backcountry has not let them go.

Both brothers, Tyler and Bryce, hold degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington and are AASI Level III snowboarders. With their technical background and vast experience in off-piste skiing, the boys set themselves the ambitious goal of taking backcountry to the next level, starting with the development of the Split30 split system.

In August 2011, the company announced a partnership with the famous freerider and founder of the Jones Snowboards brand Jeremy Jones. Jeremy's experience and knowledge in the backcountry help to continue to improve the Karakoram. In addition to Jeremy Jones, the company cooperates with many famous riders and guides. Forrest Shearer, Miikka Hast, Nick Russell, Marie-France Roy and Jamie Weeks - all of them test and use Karakoram bindings.

Karakoram bindings are manufactured and assembled in the USA. 94% of the parts are made in the States, with 91% in Washington State. Every person involved in the production of Karakoram products is a passionate snowboarder, a backcountry pro, or just a tourism enthusiast.
